We live in a luxury country lodge called Gunyah,look at our website by the same name and you will find info under "reservations". We are in the country, totally rural, at the feet of Mt Hutt, 45 minute drive from Christchurch and 20 from Methven. We need someone to help us with lodge work, housework and gardening in exchange for accommodation and board, living with us as a family. There are opportunities in this area for extra, paid, work that we can help you organise, if you have a working holiday visa. Please contact us and we can explain fully. NO smokers and no vegetarians please.
Weekly housework:vacuuming, dusting, kitchen, windows etc; hanging out washing, folding it and putting it away; some ironing(not a lot); welcome for guests, help in the kitchen and serving dinner; doing guest rooms; general weeding in the garden to keep it tidy; you are welcome to cook;it's basically 4/5 hours a day of mixed lodge,housework and gardening, living with us as a family and being my right hand; the children are at boarding school and are home only on weekends and not all weekends so we do not need any childcare but we need help to feed the pets. You need to be reliable, have initiative, not mind being home alone during the day at times, be presentable and enjoy meeting people becasue you will be doing the welcome for guests.Speaking German or Czech is a definite advantage. You need a driver's licence because there is no public transport here. You cn also buy brey cheap cars here to onsell at the end of your stay.
