We are a warm and friendly French family living in London (Wimbledon) with 2 children (Aelis 7 and Amaury 4). We are looking for a trustworthy au pair to live with us and help us to look after our 2 children while we are working. We would like our au pair to speak French as we are raising our children bilingual and mainly speak French at home. You will still get plenty opportunities to speak English at their English primary school and activities.
My husband and I work both 5 days a week and we travel quit a lot. Our daughter is very well behaved, smiley and enthusiastic. Our boy is very funny and full of energy. They both like to read books, dance, sing, draw, play lego, cook cakes, play any games really and all outdoors activities. We installed good routines with our children and like good discipline/manners. We live in a comfortable 3 bedroom house with a garden. We are 2 mn from tube station, bus stops, a few small shops and restaurants. The main town centre is a 15 mn walk with restaurants, shops, pubs, nightclubs, English school, swimming pool, fitness centres, cinema, theatre,.. You will have your own room with a double bed, Wifi and TV. You will share the bathroom with the children. You won’t need to drive as everything is walking distance. You will need to enjoy walking as the school is a 15 mn walk. We are looking for an au pair with lots of energy, fun, warm, independent and experienced with children. Aelis and Amaury are at school from 8.45 am until 3 pm. The school is a 20 mn walk from home. You will work around 30 hours a week with the following agenda: From 7.00 am to 9 am: wake up the children, help them get dressed, make breakfast, tidy children bedroom, walk to school with them. From 3.00 pm to 6.30 pm: pick them up at school, go to the park or after school activities with them, help with homework, prepare dinner and clean kitchen after dinner. As we travel quit a lot we are looking for someone to be flexible and be ready to sometimes start earlier/finish later than usual (6.30 am in the morning sometimes and 7 pm in the evenings). We also would like the possibility to have 1 night of babysitting per week. If one of the children is ill and need to stay at home for a day or 2 we would like you to look after them the full day. During holiday time, you will have to look after them all day for a few days but then you will have days off to compensate. You will have at least 3-week holiday. We have a cleaner lady who comes once a week for the main household chores. We are looking for someone neat and tidy and non-smoker. Your duties are listed below: - Preparing meals for the children (and eating with them if you want) and clean up the kitchen after their meals - Doing the children’s laundry and ironing - Help them to tidy up their toys in the evening - Filling and emptying dishwasher during the day - Help them in their homework - Help teach children good manners and behaviours - Carefully supervise them in the park (no texting or personal calls) - Enjoy sporty activities with them (playing football in the park, walk in the woods with them) even during Winter - Be creative in the home with arts and crafts We will respect your privacy in the house and appreciate you will need a break from looking after the kids in the evenings. We are a kind and caring family and look forward to having you with us. Weekends (except for the occasional babysitting) are free for you to enjoy. In Wimbledon, there are many local au pairs (they have their own Facebook page). We already had 2 au pairs (1 for 2 years and the last one for one year). They both really enjoyed themselves. Start date is 8th September 2018. We need someone to stay for the full scholar year until Mid-July 2019.
