My daughter is an active person, who enjoys equestrianism. Although it is not essential that the au pair has equestrian knowledge, a desire to be involved would be very useful. It is essential that they enjoy the outdoors though, as that is where my daughter is most comfortable. I would also prefer a foreign national to increase my daughters awareness of foreign cultures and languages.
To look after her needs whilst we are not in the house, which would only be for short bursts during the evening or morning. Take her to after school clubs with use of our car if necessary and to complete general duties to keep the house looking ok. We spend a lot of time together as a family and the au pair is welcome to join us although this is not a pre-requisite. I would imagine the au pair having a lot of time to his or herself, and as they would be here to explore this country, we would be open to helping do just that.
