We have a young family, currently a son aged 11 months with a baby daughter due in October so prior experience with young children is a must. My husband, the children's father works from 8am - 7pm Monday to Friday and is home weekends. I work from home but also run the holiday cottage and look after the children. We like to go on holiday and you will normally be invited to come with us. Normally we go to Spain, France (skiing), London but do intend to go further if we had help on the flight! Our son has already been away 4 times. We would expect you to remain looking after the children whilst we are away but will be more flexible on the hours, Perhaps 2 hours or an afternoon per day to yourself to explore but then would like you to babysit at night for example. We love to travel, walk the dog, horse ride, eat out, play tennis.
We would like you to be up to help with the children from breakfast, normally around 7:30 and help look after them throughout the day until bedtime at 6-7pm however I will be at home to help and sometimes will take the children out so you can have some alone time or you can come along. With our baby being fairly young she will sleep much of the day so your primary responsibilities will be to look after our son, however of course as she gets older will need more time. Our son will continue to go to nursery one day per week which will only leave the baby. We will provide you with a car to get around and when we are comfortable with your driving you will be allowed to drive the children. To begin with, I will drive you and the children places for swimming classes etc You will have your own new, large bedroom and en-suite with internet and tv slightly separate to the main house (down a corridor) so you will have your own privacy. We would of course give you the weekends off and you are free to do what you like from 7pm on Friday until 7am Monday. However if you are able, we may ask if you'd be available to babysit at the weekends or evenings but you of course are welcome to say no! We would like the weekends alone with the children so would expect you to entertain yourself for Sat - Sun. You are welcome to join us for supper when you wish, we do not want you to feel alone or excluded! You will be expected to care for the children, cook for the children, do their washing and keep their rooms and toys tidy around the house. If you have spare time you may also be asked to do some ironing and odd jobs around the house. You will not be able to invite anyone back to our house and we keep our house very private and secure however we will be happy to help you find clubs, or language schools and socialise outside of working hours. You will not be allowed to drink alcohol when you are working under any circumstances. Manners are very important to us and therefore would expect you to be polite but also not to allow the children to be rude to you or anyone else at any time. We would like you to stay for a minimum of 1 year. We are looking for a responsible, loyal and trustworthy individual.
