We are a family of three so far, two mums and our 19 month old daughter. We are expecting twins late this year. One mum (Jo) works full-time as an emergency doctor (shift-work) and the other mum (Kim) who is pregnant, stays at home. We are easy-going, have a good sense of humour and enjoy exploring the local area, as we have only been living here for a year ourselves. We love reading and singing songs to our daughter and avoid screen time with our daughter as much as possible. We are looking for someone to join our family, who is kind, honest, patient, has a good sense of humour, and a genuine love of children. We live in the beautiful Sunshine Coast region of South East Queensland, within a short drive of amazing beaches, lush hinterland and major shopping centres. From our house, it is a ten minute walk to public transport (bus stop). Our daily routine involves getting up around 6am with our daughter, making breakfast and a going for a walk around the block. On Tuesdays and Thursdays we attend activities with our daughter, while on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays our daughter goes to daycare. In the afternoons we often play outside in the backyard, or in the street with neighbours' kids. Our daughter has dinner at 5pm and is in bed by 6:30pm at the latest. She sleeps through the night.
We are looking for live in au pair for a minimum of three months but hoping for a longer term situation. Because our daughter is at daycare three days a week there would be generous amounts of free time. Due to Kim's pregnancy, she is finding it difficult to keep up with our energetic toddler when Jo is at work and not around to help. We need someone who is happy to be flexible and can work around our needs based on Jo's shiftwork. Ideally we need someone who can/has: - look after our daughter during the day when not at daycare and Jo at work - prepare simple meals/snacks for our daughter when looking after her - assist with bathing and dressing - cook basic meals of an evening when required - attend our daughter's swimming lessons and other activities (often with Kim) - drivers license - first aid certificate and blue card (working with children check) - good English On offer: - a private one bedroom apartment (attached to main house) - separate kitchen/living including fridge, stove top, microwave and dishwasher - bathroom/laundry - Netflix/Apple TV and wireless internet - use of backyard pool - views of garden, pool, al fresco (patio), bushland - 10 minutes walk to public transport (bus stop) - 15 minute drive to beach - use of second family care by arrangement when not being used for travel to work - cleaner comes once per fortnight Weekly rate of pay negotiable.
