Hi! We are a family of 4 living in Queens, NY, which is a part of New York City right next to Manhattan, where all the skyscrapers are. We are seeking a Japanese au pair who would speak Japanese to our children to encourage their Japanese speaking skills. Our oldest daughter, Sana, is 8 years old, going to enter the 3rd grade in September. She is loving, funny, and always full of energy, just about the best daughter a mom and a dad could ask for. Our little Ren will be turning 2 in October 2017. He is a smiley, energetic boy. If you become our au-pair, you will be primarily taking care of him and you will be expected to know how to engage and entertain a toddler around this age. Kaya (mom) was born in Japan but has spent most of her life in the UK and the US. She works in Manhattan at a large advertising agency. As a mother and a wife, Kaya is the heart and brain of our family. Roman (dad) was born in America to parents, who immigrated from India in the 1970’s. He works as a real estate appraiser from his home office in the basement. Romal is active and loves sports. We are a laid-back, fun-loving family. We are looking for an au-pair, who is interested in child development. You should be mature, self-motivated, confident and assertive when needed. We hope to meet an au-pair who will make a positive mark on our lives and of whom we will speak fondly many years from now.
We expect our au pair to mainly take care of our younger son throughout the day. Starting around 9am, you will play indoor with him, take him to the nearby park/classes, cook and feed him, read to him, put him for a nap, etc. We expect you to be a moral figure to our 8 year old as well.
