I see my Au Pair experience as an opportunity to grow in many different ways. Of course, I hope to improve my English, experience life in another country, and become more independent, but my biggest expectation is to truly become part of a family. I don't want to feel like someone who is simply helping with childcare—I hope to share everyday moments, celebrate special occasions, learn from each other, and create memories that will last long after the program ends.
If I could choose one country, it would definitely be Denmark. Over the years, I have become very interested in Danish culture and values. I admire the importance that Danish society gives to family life, trust, equality, and quality of life. As a fashion and design student, I also find Denmark incredibly inspiring because of its world-famous design tradition, creativity, and minimalist style. I believe living there would help me grow not only as a person but also as a future designer.
Another reason Denmark is special to me is because someone very important in my life lives there. However, what truly motivates me is the opportunity to experience the country from the inside by becoming part of a Danish family. I want to understand the culture through everyday life, not as a tourist, but as someone who is welcomed into a home.
When I think about a host family, I don't imagine employers and an employee. I imagine people who open their home, share their traditions, and make space for someone from another culture. In return, I hope to bring kindness, responsibility, respect, and a little piece of Argentina into their lives. I know that living together also requires communication, flexibility, and understanding, and I am ready to do my part to build a positive relationship.
My greatest hope is that this experience will not end when my Au Pair year is over. I would love to build a relationship that lasts for many years, just like the friendships my own family created when we hosted exchange students. If, years from now, we are still sending messages, visiting each other, and celebrating life's milestones together, I will know that this experience was truly successful.
