Greetings to my future host family. My name is faridah and I am an energetic, creative, and enthusiastic young lady from Nigeria. I love seeing the world through children's eyes, and I bring a lot of fun, creativity, and laughter wherever I go. With a university background in science and professional experience as a teacher, I love keeping young minds engaged through learning, active play, and creative hobbies like hair braiding. I cannot wait to join a wonderful household, dive into your culture, and bring a big smile to your children's faces every single day! I want to be an au pair because I love children from the bottom of my heart, and working with them brings me great joy. I am incredibly excited about the opportunity to live with a host family abroad, learn your language, and share my own rich Nigerian heritage with your family. More importantly, I want to be a supportive big sister to your children and a helpful, respectful, and trustworthy member of your household. My Childcare & Teaching ExperienceI bring a unique combination of formal classroom experience and loving, everyday childcare: Teaching Experience: I have spent a full year working as a formal teacher for Junior Secondary School (JSS) students. This experience has taught me how to manage routines, maintain gentle discipline, and effectively guide children through difficult schoolwork, math, or science projects. Babysitting & Daily Routines: Beyond the classroom, I am the go-to babysitter for my family and neighbors. I regularly look after children aged [e.g., 2 to 8] years old. My duties include preparing healthy snacks, assisting with morning and bedtime routines, reading stories aloud, and keeping them safely supervised. Learning and Active Play: I love organizing creative indoor activities, arts and crafts, and outdoor games to keep children happy, active, and engaged. Hobbies and HouseworkIn my free time, I really enjoy cooking traditional meals, listening to music, and engaging in creative activities. I am also very skilled at braiding hair, which I find to be a wonderful creative outlet! It is a hobby that children usually love, and I would be delighted to style your children’s hair if they want.I am a very tidy, organized person who believes a happy home is a clean home. I am more than happy to assist your family with light household chores, including doing laundry, vacuuming, keeping the children's spaces neat, and cooking simple, healthy meals for your little ones. Education and General SkillsI am a proud university graduate with a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Chemistry, and I have also successfully completed my mandatory National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) program in Nigeria. This background has given me a high level of discipline, responsibility, patience, and maturity. While I do not hold an official medical first-aid (CPR) certificate, I am a very safety-conscious individual who handles household safety with extreme care.I do not hold a driving licence. Because of this, I would fit best with a wonderful host family that resides in a walkable area or a town with reliable public transportation connections near local schools, shops, and parks.
