Presentación personal
Good day! My name is Abigail Rose Marin, and I am 24 years old, turning 25 this 13th of February. I currently live in Bacolod City, known as the City of Smiles, in the Philippines. I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication and a National Certificate in Caregiving.
I have gained meaningful experience caring for children ranging from toddlers to young teens through various roles. These include volunteer work at an orphanage, serving as a Sunday school teacher at our church, and assisting as a teacher aide in my mother’s preschool class. Growing up in a large family and living in a compound, I have also taken on the role of an older sister and cousin, regularly caring for younger siblings and cousins during weekends. My responsibilities included assisting with bathing and dressing, preparing simple and nutritious meals, helping with school projects and assignments, engaging them in play and creative activities, and ensuring they follow a healthy routine, especially afternoon nap time before outdoor play.
I am gentle and soft-spoken, and my approach to childcare is simple yet intentional. I allow children to choose activities they enjoy, giving them a sense of autonomy while still providing proper guidance and structure. I believe this helps build their confidence, creativity, and independence at an early age. At the same time, I value routines and safety. I make sure children follow healthy daily habits such as proper hygiene, balanced meals, nap time, and supervised play. I always aim to create a warm, calm, and nurturing environment where children feel safe, heard, and comfortable expressing themselves.
I am fluent in English, and I am patient and attentive when listening to children’s needs and emotions. I understand that every child is unique, and I adapt my caregiving style to suit their personality and developmental stage. I am also responsible, trustworthy, and respectful of family rules and parenting styles.
I want to become an Au Pair because it gives me the opportunity to explore the world while learning about new cultures through real family life. I believe that the best way to truly understand a country and its people is by living with a local family, sharing daily routines, traditions, and values.
At the same time, I genuinely enjoy caring for children and supporting families. I understand that parents have busy schedules, and I would love to help manage daily routines and take care of their children so they can focus on work and other responsibilities with peace of mind. Knowing that I can be a reliable and positive presence in a family’s home is very meaningful to me.
Being an Au Pair allows me to grow personally and professionally while doing something I love. I see it as a cultural exchange where both the family and I can learn from each other. I hope to contribute not only through childcare and household support related to the children, but also by bringing warmth, respect, and positivity into the home.
As I am currently residing in the Philippines, I kindly and humbly request visa sponsorship in accordance with the Au Pair program requirements, so I may legally join and support your family.
Outside of caregiving, I’m a musician with a deep appreciation for music and the arts. As part of our church’s music and children’s ministry, I teach kids to sing and play instruments like the drums and guitar. I also spend time with them doing creative activities such as painting, drawing, and reading Bible stories during Sunday school.
Thank you very much for considering my application. I look forward to the opportunity to meet you and become part of your family.
