Kia Ora! My name is Alex, and I am currently an 18-year old high school student finishing up my final year at secondary school. I have been a competitive gymnast from the ages of 7 - 14, and have now been a competitive dancer for 5 years. At the age of 15, I became a gymnastics teacher for children aged 3 - 15. Through this experience, I have worked with a large range of children, alongside their parents. I have learnt to understand behavioral patterns, have worked with children with physical and mental disabilities, and have helped young gymnasts achieve their goals. Since I was young, I never really knew what I wanted to do, but through working with kids, I knew that caring for children was something I wanted to do for the rest of my life. In the future, I plan to become a pediatric occupational therapist to help children with disabilities live their life to the fullest. This has been a goal I have been working towards throughout my years at high school, however I would love to travel and experience the world before opening a textbook again. I believe you should host me for this position as I have had going on 3 years of experience working with children, and have a bright and bubbly personality! I love putting a smile on kids faces, whether that means taking them out to the park or heading out for an ice cream! I have learnt independency and self-motivation from a young age, teaching me how to be fully responsible of young children. I believe my experience with children qualifies me for this position as I have worked with children from all ages and walks of life. I have learnt valuable skills on how to connect with different children and help them overcome challenges, whether that be in the gym, or in their life. Though I am a gymnastics coach, my job has taught me much more than just how to coach forward rolls and cartwheels. It has taught me how much of an impact a positive role model can make in a young child's life, and I want that to be me for your children! I am enthusiastic and energetic, and I want to be that positive influence for your children. I would like to be an Au Pair as working with children is something that fills my heart. Helping children overcome adversities and making them smile is something that I would do for free if I could. On top of that, I've always wanted to travel! I have never been out of New Zealand before, and before I move on to my future studies, I would like to see the world through a different lens. Currently, I plan on studying in New Zealand, but I believe that travelling will not only tick a few things off my bucket list, but will also help me meet new people from different walks of life. The people I have surrounded myself with have made me who I am today. I would not be anywhere where I am today if I hadn't put myself out there and met all the amazing people in my life, and I want to continue to do that. I want to meet new people and share my experiences with them, and I believe becoming an Au Pair abroad will help me achieve this. Overall, the idea of caring for children and travelling the world is something that ticks all the boxes for me!
