Dear Host Family,
My name is Mariami, I’m 26 years old and originally from Georgia. While I’m currently based in Georgia, I spent 2024 in Germany volunteering (ESC) at an educational youth center that organizes international seminars for young people on topics like democracy, feminism, human rights, and antifascism. With a background in human rights organizations and project management, I’ve spent the last several years coordinating events, leading youth programs, and working closely with young people with different backgrounds, artists, activists, and young leaders across Europe.
I hold a bachelor degree in Political Science with a minor in Japanese Studies.. I speak Georgian (native), fluent English, conversational Russian and Japanese (JLPT N5), and I’m currently learning German (A1 level).
I want to become an Au Pair because I genuinely enjoy being around children and supporting their development through creativity, curiosity, and care. Having worked in both educational and cultural fields, I truly value meaningful interactions and believe that childhood should be full of warmth, encouragement, and discovery. Living with a family as an Au Pair is also a beautiful way to experience cultural exchange in a more personal and heartfelt way.
What qualifies me for this role is not only my professional experience in youth work, but also my personal approach: I listen deeply, care genuinely, and adapt easily. I’ve supported children and young people in various learning environments and am committed to creating moments that are both fun and meaningful. Whether it’s reading stories, helping with homework, going on walks, or inventing creative games, I approach each activity with joy and responsibility.
Also, I have extensive experience caring for children in both personal and professional settings. In Georgia, I frequently helped friends and family by looking after their children - supporting them with schoolwork, organizing games, and creating a safe, loving environment, teaching languages. I was also closely involved in caring for my aunt’s two children, providing consistent support in their daily routines.
Through my involvement in youth organizations, I have been responsible for planning and leading educational and creative activities for young people from diverse backgrounds, always paying close attention to their emotional well-being, personal development, and learning needs.
In addition, I have worked as a private tutor, teaching Japanese to pupils in a fun and engaging way. I also volunteered as an assistant at an informal school in Georgia called Garisa, which focuses on outdoor education and nature-based learning activities - mainly organizing forest outings and hands-on workshops for children that encourage curiosity, teamwork, and environmental awareness.
Thank you for considering my application - I would be honored to be part of your family and create meaningful memories together.
Warm wishes,
Mariami
