Presentación personal
My name is Leila Rukia. I am 23 years old and from Kenya. I was born and raised in Eldoret, and I studied Social Work and Community Development at the Kenya Institute of Applied Sciences. My academic background has equipped me with the knowledge and values necessary to support individuals, families, and communities in a caring and professional manner.
In 2023, I had the opportunity to care for my 1-year-old cousin, Nima Noqbile. During this time, I was responsible for feeding her, changing diapers, bathing, playing with her, and helping her fall asleep. This hands-on experience taught me the importance of patience, consistency, and emotional attentiveness when caring for young children. It also deepened my love for childcare and strengthened my sense of responsibility.
Outside of caregiving, I enjoy cooking and exploring new recipes. Preparing meals allows me to express creativity and care for others. I also love travelling, which has helped me become more open-minded and curious about different cultures and lifestyles. These hobbies bring me joy, relaxation, and personal growth.
I would like to become an au pair because I enjoy working with children and am eager to experience new cultures. I believe being an au pair is a meaningful way to support a family while also learning and growing in a new environment. I am responsible, kind, and ready to become part of a welcoming host family where I can contribute positively and create lasting memories.
