Presentación personal
My name is Sara, I am 22 years old, and I am from Spain. Although I was born in Guatemala, my family and I moved frequently during my childhood, living in places like Senegal and France. This has allowed me to grow up surrounded by different cultures, teaching me to appreciate and respect our differences, as well as the people from those countries. It also taught me to communicate and solve problems even when language barriers exist.
I love traveling and experiencing new cultures, and what I enjoy most about traveling is sharing these experiences with others. My experience as an au pair began two years ago when I moved to Chicago to take care of two children, a 2-year-old and a 4-year-old. When I arrived, the younger child was just 4 months old, and the older one was 3 years old. The youngest child has special needs; he has a G-tube, which requires extra care and attention. I’ve had the privilege of caring for him and have learned a lot about how to meet the unique needs of children with medical conditions.
Living with a host family and taking care of children has been one of the most fulfilling experiences of my life. It’s taught me a lot about responsibility, patience, and the joy of watching children grow and develop. Although I no longer live with my family, my time as an au pair has given me the opportunity to experience life in another family, adapt to a new culture, and improve my language skills.
I worked as a reading and writing instructor at a school, providing extracurricular support for children. During my Higher Education Degree in Early Childhood Education, I completed a 3-4 month internship at a preschool, working with children aged 0 to 3, which gave me significant hands-on experience. As part of my training, we regularly visited classrooms with children aged 0 to 5 during the first year of my studies, which further strengthened my practical knowledge and understanding of child development.
I am excited to continue this journey, as I believe it will allow me to learn and grow even more. I would love to be a part of your family and contribute to your children’s growth and happiness.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
All the best,
Sara
