Dear Host Family, Greetings! My name is Fathiah from Pontianak, West Kalimantan, Indonesia. I am currently pursuing my undergraduate degree in tourism at the University of Gunadarma in Jakarta. I am eager to embark on new experiences and learn valuable skills. At 20 years old, I have a wealth of experience with children and have also cared for friends' and family's pets. Becoming an au pair appeals to me as it provides an opportunity to learn new languages, experience diverse cultures, and develop essential soft skills for both my college life and future professional endeavors. Having taught English to primary and junior high school students in my hometown and being a social studies student interested in culture and history, I am genuinely fascinated by learning about different cultures. Furthermore, I am drawn to being an au pair due to my familiarity with children. Babysitting for my family has allowed me to create a warm and calming atmosphere, making children happy in my presence. I enjoy conversing with them and believe in fostering a positive and open relationship. My ability to adapt quickly to new environments stems from frequent relocations, a result of my father's job as an immigration officer. Simple tasks, cleaning, or any responsibilities you assign, I am more than willing to handle. I find joy in engaging with children, accompanying them in their daily lives, and participating in various activities together. Growing up in a parenting role has equipped me with the skills needed for childcare.
